Autismusa.net came about with the realization that many people all across the world do research on autism and other mental disorders; many parents have different approaches and ideas towards taking care of children with autism; Special educators develop new techniques towards educating special kids; And many of these folks provide lots of 'paper-work' in seminars and other events. But would it not be great if there was a central place to keep all this stuff. Well for a start, we decided to start with a directory and see how this idea progresses.

Autismusa.net is a resource center for aggregating information and experiences with autism, aspergers syndrome and other developmental and behavioural disorders. Our interest is in creating a link and information directory which is comprehensive, well defined and easy to browse. Only those sites which have unique content or information that is laid out neatly are listed. Sites hosted on free web space providers with lots of pop-ups are discouraged unless the information is totally unique.

Our forums are meant to be a life long support area, where people can come and share experiences on a wide variety of topics and leave the same for future visitors. As we go along, we intend to make the directories more and more specific and also aggregate content in a systematic manner using automated information retrieval mechanisms.
